Section 1 - Scope

These terms of use apply to the use of the yappidoo web app. yappidoo is a private, non-commercial project that helps families coordinate playdates for their children.

Section 2 - Use

  • Use is restricted to custodial parents and legal guardians
  • Each user may create only one account
  • False information is not permitted
  • The app is intended solely for coordinating playdates

Our privacy policy explains which data we process while you use the service and how we run privacy-preserving web analytics.

Section 3 - Protection of children

yappidoo takes the protection of children's data very seriously. Only data about your own children may be entered. Use by minors without parental supervision is not permitted.

Section 4 - Liability

The operator is not liable for user-generated content. The app facilitates contacts between families; the families involved are solely responsible for any playdates that actually take place.

Section 5 - Termination

Users may delete their account at any time in the profile settings. The operator may suspend accounts in the event of breaches of these terms of use.

Section 6 - Changes

The operator reserves the right to amend these terms of use. Users will be notified by email.

Section 7 - Affiliate recommendations (Amazon Partnernet)

yappidoo shows editorially curated product recommendations with affiliate links on a recommendations page and as a dashboard teaser.

  • yappidoo is a participant in the Amazon EU Associates Programme. When you buy via an Amazon affiliate link, yappidoo earns an advertising fee.
  • There are no additional costs for the user.
  • Editorial selection is independent of any commissions.
  • The mandatory disclaimer required by the Amazon EU Operating Agreement is displayed verbatim on the recommendations page.

§8 Marketplace

yappidoo provides a marketplace where users can post listings and make contact. yappidoo acts solely as an intermediary.

  • yappidoo only facilitates contact between users. Purchase and sale contracts are concluded solely between the users; yappidoo handles neither payment nor shipping and does not become a party to the contract.
  • Users arrange payment and handover on their own responsibility. We recommend local pickup with cash payment or payment only via secured methods (e.g. PayPal "Goods & Services") - never "Friends & Family" or advance payment to strangers.
  • Prohibited in particular are illegal, youth-endangering, safety-critical or recalled items (incl. car seats no longer marketable under ECE R44), counterfeit goods, weapons, medication and live animals.
  • Commercial sellers must identify themselves as such and fulfil their legal obligations (imprint, right of withdrawal, warranty). Using a private account for commercial purposes is prohibited.
  • yappidoo checks listings automatically and manually and may reject, block or delete listings; affected users are notified.
  • Users can report listings. yappidoo accepts no liability for the accuracy of listings, the quality of goods or the transaction between users.

§9 User images

For images you upload to yappidoo (e.g. for events or marketplace listings), the following applies:

  • You only upload images to which you hold the necessary rights, and you make sure that people shown in them have agreed to their publication.
  • By uploading, you grant the operator the simple, revocable right to display the image within the app. No further rights are transferred.
  • The operator may remove images if there are indications of a rights infringement or if they are reported.

§10 Family Blog

For contributions to the public family blog (author profile, articles and images), the following applies:

  • By submitting an article you grant the operator the simple, free and geographically unrestricted right to make the article including images, teaser and author name publicly available on yappidoo.de, to use it in previews, feeds and sitemaps and to adapt it technically (such as image size or formatting). No further rights are transferred.
  • You remain the author of your texts and images and guarantee that you hold all necessary rights and that people shown have agreed to the publication. Images with recognizable children's faces, advertising, third-party texts and content that infringes the rights of others are not permitted.
  • The operator reviews every article before publication and may reject, return, later take offline or end the author role without giving reasons. The operator may editorially revise submitted and published articles (such as spelling, shortening or removing inadmissible content) and delete them; we notify you in the app about a change to your published article and about a deletion. This also applies to articles submitted before this rule - you can take a published article offline yourself at any time. Your unpublished drafts remain untouched.
  • You can withdraw any article yourself at any time and end the author role; the licence then ends for the future. Copies already made by search engines or other services are beyond our control.
  • You mark images that were fully or partly created with AI as such when you submit. The operator may subsequently mark or remove unmarked AI images.
